I would rather dare winter than face the herd of bipeds that settles here in summer. I’ll prepare for life with bears and bison instead. Arriving in late September, most facilities for human comfort will be closed. I’ll hike the backcountry as long as snow falls lightly.

Introduction
This introductory post simply gives you
options for commenting on posts which I expect to write nearly daily for the
next month or two, after leaving home on Sept. 16. I invite your comments here on the blog. There are no restrictions. Whatever you wish to say, pro or con, poems
or suggestions, can be placed here as comments.
Just click on “Comments,” type in the empty box or paste something
there. Then select how you wish to identify
yourself from the pull-down menu below the box.
If you don’t know which option to use, select “anonymous” and identify
yourself within your comment. We shall
adventure together, you and I, if you decide to join me.

ReplyDeleteSo far yay and amen; we'll see how it goes, Lois
DeleteSorry, been there, done that.
ReplyDeleteI bet you haven't, Dalton
DeleteWow Sharon! Your observation of, "the comparison of fruit trees to lawn stands as a reminder of how politics works when water is short," took my breath away. What a full circle you have traveled as your life experiences have brought you back to this place in the here and now, surrounded by a thirsty landscape. You go, girl! We are cheering you on. Love, Kathy
ReplyDeleteKathy, you too have traveled in places I cannot go. As a teacher you have former students coming back to you as better people for your passing - something foresters and AutoCad operators don't get.
DeleteYou were gone by the time I got to Wednesday Poetry - sorry I missed you. Wishing you a safe journey I'm looking forward to your travel experiences. Hugs, Erika
ReplyDeleteThanks Erika, nice to have you riding along.
