I would rather dare winter than face the herd of bipeds that settles here in summer. I’ll prepare for life with bears and bison instead. Arriving in late September, most facilities for human comfort will be closed. I’ll hike the backcountry as long as snow falls lightly.

I had hoped to
find the aspens in their full fall glory, but didn’t really count on it. What did I do in this life to be so
fortunate?
It would be easier for me to pass through them than to climb them, Taura. Climbing requires ropes, pitons, and more guts that I have. Today I walked among them like a child walking among adults.
Glorious trees. Thanks for the photos, Sharon. I'm so glad you are there in time for the golden fall.
ReplyDeleteI wish you could see them, Liz. They are truly awesome.
DeleteAre you planning on climbing any of these peaks or just passing through?

DeleteThese are so spectacular. I'd love to just sit and look at the fall colors. Thanks for taking me along.
ReplyDeleteMany people do that here, Mina. Me too, but I also walked among aspen and granite spires. Today in the Tetons was truly inspiring.
DeleteYou earned this spectacular view, Sharon and we're soaking it all up. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and photos.
ReplyDeleteGood to see you enjoying it, Erika
